Q&A for the Aquathon on 21st July 2018

Q: How warm will the Lake be on race day?
A: The Lake should be around 64 degrees F.

Q: Are wet suits required/allowed?
A: It is up to the athlete whether they want to wear a wetsuit or not.

Q: Will there be water safety out in the lake?
A: There will be life guards on duty and a lot of Kayakers in the lake to ensure the swimmers are safe.

Q: At what time will the long course start? Does it begin before the short course?
A: The long course (1200yd swim) 2 loops will begin at 9am, after the first loop they will exit the water run around a marker and enter the water again for loop 2. The short course (600yd swim) will begin 10 minutes later.

Q: Is there a packet pick up the night before the event or can you pick up your race number the day of the event?
A: There will be packet pick up at:  33274 Green Valley Lake Rd, Green Valley Lake. It is in fact the club house and is just next to the children s play area you cannot miss it just after the Lake on your left-hand side. There will be pick up Friday 20th July from 5pm to 6.30pm, and Saturday race morning from 6.30am to 8am.

Q: Will there be food available?
A: All participants and volunteers will receive a voucher/ticket for free Taco Bar Lunch after the race is finished.

Q: Will there be aid stations on the course?
A: We will have Hammer Nutrition HEED and Water on course and at the start / finish line. You will also get Hammer Gel and Fizz ( electrolyte ) in race bag too.

Q: Will the routes be marked?
A: Yes both Lake and the run will be well marked and a map at packet pick up.

Q: Were do we park our cars?
A: There will be designated area for parking the car on race day, 

Q: Were is Green Valley Lake?
A: Green Valley Lake is an unicorporated community in San Bernardino County CA, It is known as a Hidden Gem and sits at 7000 feet. it is pretty secluded and 4 miles from State Highway 18, It is surrounded by National Firest.

Green Valley Lake is a beautiful place to spend a day with your family and friends, while the race results are being sorted out we also have a raffle and when the race is over there are plenty of hiking trails to check out and also close to Big Bear , Lake Arrowhead and Running Springs so come on up for a day in the mountains it will not disappoint.

We love to have volunteers please drop us a message if you would like to volunteer at an aid station, on the Lake in a Kayak or as a course marshal.
